Description:

Fifth Alarm Firehouse Pub has been a labor of love since it was purchased in December 2001 by local firefighters Randy and Jeff Hogan and family. Built in 1922, this historic building was the first firehouse in Byron. Over the decades, it housed City Hall, council chambers, Byrons volunteer fire department and ambulance service, and several charitable organizations. The south side of the restaurant was the original City Hall. The center brick wall stood 14 feet high and 14 feet wide and was lowered during renovation to its current height of 4 feet. The wood floor and trim are original. The north side of the restaurant housed Byrons first firehouse, then the ambulance service and police department. The Brotherhood Room to the west honors our local heroes. Many members of the community donated labor, ideas, and memorabilia, and we could not have made this tribute to our heritage without such community support. Check out the photos and plaques hanging in the Brotherhood Room and throughout Fifth Alarm that honor these contributions. Enjoy your time with usabsorb a little Byron history and have a smokin good time! Thank you to everyone for stopping in to dine, visit, or just reflect.
