04/06/2011 - "Weighed Wade" Blog #14

I just had my fourth and last assessment with B-Xtreme Fitness, and the results are more than satisfying. My weight went from 224lbs to 217lbs. I thought I would have lost 40lbs when I first started, but quickly learned from Niki that shouldn't be my focus. After this last assessment, I have learned, because of the type of training I did, I was building muscle along with burning fat. Based on that I am proud to say that I have lost a total of 3 1/2" around my stomach, 1" around my hips, and the same around my thighs. I also gained 1" around my arms. Welcome to the gun show! LOL.

I had also learned how important it is to change your diet. Diet played a huge roll in losing the inches. Now that I have done this for 4 1/2 months, I have developed a craving for eating better, and for working out. It is a MUST, to losing weight, that you should focus 80% of your training to your diet. You still need to get off the couch and work out or get some cardio in each day to make the combination complete.

The first month was fun, I was getting fed tons of information, learning new life style changes, and working out. The second month was tougher. At this point they knew how hard they could push me, and had a clearer view on which direction I needed to go. The third month kind of felt like I had flat lined on my progress, but through heavier training and more cardio, I was able to get the results I wanted by the fourth month, which was tons of compliments. I love compliments!!! LOL.

At this point we have decided to continue my training on my own at home, with frequent check-ins. I am going to be starting softball, coaching my daughters team, and a few other spring and summer activities. B-Xtreme is also going to be going through some changes also, with the possibility of a new location, due to growth they are gaining with new customers. It will be fun to work out at home with my family, riding our bikes together, and my all time favorite - hiking in the woods for delicious wild mushrooms and wild berries - our family tradition.
