Designed by Golf Course Architect Charles Dudley Wagstaft, this popular 18-hole course is located on Rockford's south side. Opened on July 4, 1929, Sandy Hollow is a tree-lined fairway course with strategically-placed fairway bunkers and rated by Golf Digest as a 3 1/2 star course. The course is also one of 19 Audubon Certified courses in Illinois. One of the more challenging holes on the 6,228-yard course is #11, which requires a tee-shot over a pond. Par 71.
